The best and most obvious way of finding a reliable plumber is to have someone recommend one to you.Unfortunately this is not always possible. A lot of people say you should only use a "corgi" registered plumber, but this is not always the case if the job consists of say, fitting a bathroom suite.

Plumbers can earn a lot of money mainly because the are in such high demand. A few years ago I had a plumber install a bathroom suite,it took him 4 hours and he charged me £375 and he didn't provide any materials.

Anyway, back to the original question "how to find a good plumber". It is always wise to consult the relevant trade bodies who regulate this particular business. Association of Plumbing and Heating Contractors is the leading trade Association for the Plumbing and Heating Industry in England and Wales.

Another way,of course,is to search the local web by typing in something like "plumber in Birmingham". On the results page click on one of the top results and check to see if (1) They have any customers comments or any sort of feedback from clients the have done work for. This is important because if the have they will want to show it to their potential customers. or (2) Check whether they are members of any regulatory body, such as the one mentioned above. These organizations require their members to stick to a code of practice and offer recourse if anything goes wrong. if the work is desperately urgent you may not have time to visit any premises or see examples of work, but it is still worth making sure the plumber is properly qualified.

No matter how good they sound over the phone, however, don't be tempted to choose the first plumber you call. The problem you are facing is that there are a lot of cowboys out there, but also many reliable, professional plumbers.

For any work that involves gas appliances, the plumber you choose should be "corgi" registered. The following is a quote from "corgi" itself "Corgi is committed to supporting the trades, both in making their jobs easier and in ensuring the general public are properly informed and are able to get a quality trades person when they need one"

The statement above should give confidence to those people looking for a plumber and help to answer the question "Plumbers and how to find a good one" http://plumber.nearnewcastlelocalarea.com
